| Heavily under the sway of Dick Dale, the Pied Piper of surf music, the Cornells were not just an excellent young Los Angeles-based instrumental combo—they had an ace up their sleeve, too! The Cornells were manned with the offspring of Hollywood celebrities! Guitarist Peter Lewis, for example, was the son of Oscar-winning silver-screen icon Loretta Young. Lewis would soon move north to San Francisco to help create the mighty Moby Grape with Skip Spence and Bob Mosley, with just enough time to brush the sand and sea foam from his days with the Cornells out of his flowing locks. |
