This
disc pairs two of Pass’s World Pacific albums: Simplicity,
from 1967, which gives us the post-bebop Joe swinging elegantly
and improvising eloquently with a small group of first-rate sidemen
and an urbane and sophisticated feel, and ‘66’s A Sign
of the Times, on which Joe, accompanied by Chet Baker, graces
the hit tunes of the ‘60s with his jazz chops.
