One, Part One, Vol. 2 and A Child's Guide To
Good & Evil — can be clearly seen as encyclopedic primers
of soaring psychedelia, achingly pure folk-rock and Zappa/Beefheart
strangeness. These seminally influential works from teenage studio
whiz Michael Lloyd, brothers Shaun and Danny Harris and Bob Markley
now define the late-'60s Los Angeles musical experience. And, like
