We're
so proud of SUNDAZED's New Building that we thought you might enjoy
a guided tour of the sparkling, three-story facility, opened in late
summer, 2002. Walk through the front door and you're immediately impressed
with the restoration job performed on this 100-year old brick marvel,
located directly across Reed St. from our original officeand
just 100 yards from the shores of the mighty Hudson River. |
We've taken
pains to keep the original brick walls intact and then gone to
town with the interior decoration, filling the place with modernistic
Charles and Ray Eames-designed furniture that give the client's lounge,
for example, the low-slung feel of a 1960s airport VIP trysting place.
The antique brick, mahogany, olive green and frosty yellow color scheme
recaptures the high-rolling glamour of a Las Vegas casino from the
Kennedy years. You halfway expect to see Shecky Greene performing
tonight with the Four Lads. |

The
first floor is the brand new home for our crack team of graphic artists,
free at last from having to sidestep the perpetual hubbub of our shipping
department. It's also perfectly suited as our staff conference area,
where
the big decisions are made, and is also the permanent location of
the ever-expanding SUNDAZED tape vault. Sharp new decking out back
has been
installed in plenty of time for the autumn BBQ season. Sunset Magazine
would love the place. |
The
sales officepencils tucked behind everyone's ears and calculators
clicking like madnow occupies the spacious second floor. The
third story
has to be the crown jewel of the new facility, housing state of the
art
studio space, divvied up into three main rooms: Studios A and C for
mastering and editing and Studio B for mixing. This is where the finishing
touches are applied to every SUNDAZED release. |

All
by itself, the recent acquisition of a couple of truckloads of new
and
vintage recording gear would have made expansion into our upgraded
quarters essential. Since the old building has now been completely
swallowed up by the hustle and bustle of our shipping and receiving
department, we've focused our energies on creating a new office space
that murmurs SUNDAZED around every corner. "Artists love working
in our new building," says SUNDAZED's Big Kahuna, Bob Irwin.
"It's a time warp, we admit it. And we love it." |
Besides
the multitude of Sundazed releases, the producers and graphic
artists at Sundazed Studios, also do many projects for major and independent
record labels.
