“The Throwaway Age” is featured in Major Motion Picture “Inherent Vice”

INCREDIBLY proud and SUPER-elated to let you know that one of Bob Irwin and the Pluto Walker’s songs is featured in the brand new Warner Bros. motion picture, “Inherent Vice”… Written and directed by by Paul Thomas Anderson (from the novel by Thomas Pynchon), the film features Joaquin Phoenix, Josh Brolin, Owen Wilson, Reese Witherspoon, and tons of others. It opens nationally on January 9th. We are so, so honored to be a part of this. On this date in 1963 the album “A Christmas Gift For You was released in the US.

On this date November 22, 1963 the album “A Christmas Gift For You (from Philles Records)” was released in the US. It is also titled as “A Christmas Gift For You (from Phil Spector)

The album is a compilation of Christmas songs performed by The Crystals, Darlene Love, The Ronettes, and Bob B. Soxx & the Blue Jeans. The record was produced by Phil Spector,engineered by Larry Levine, with musical arrangements by Jack Nitzsche.

The album was recorded in September-October of that year at Gold Star Studios.

The album was released the same day as the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, and was a relative failure at the time. Original pressings very rare.


In subsequent years, especially after its reissue on Apple, the album grew in popularity and is considered now to be a holiday classic.

15 years ago today Doug Sahm left this physical world. He left us all with a great gift of music to enjoy for our life times.
