“This one is such musical bliss!”
Sea Shanties LP
Continuing in its ongoing mission to return underappreciated vintage psychedelic gems to the marketplace, Sundazed presents High Tide’s beloved 1969 British cult classic Sea Shanties as it was originally meant to be heard, in the 12″ vinyl LP format.
A one-of-a-kind collision of psychedelia, prog and heavy rock, Sea Shanties embodies the darker edge of psychedelic rock, while presaging the wave of heavy metal combos that would soon emerge in Britain. Although it’s been out of print in the United States for decades, Sea Shanties has attracted a fervent cult following in recent years, making this release a particularly timely one.
“One of the most intense albums I’ve ever heard.”
Steve Ferguson, one-of-a-kind genre-bending guitarist and bandleader, passed away after a lengthy battle with cancer on October 7, 2009. As anyone fortunate enough to have seen him perform knows, Ferguson was a one-of-a-kind musical force, effortlessly merging divergent strains of American roots music into a distinctive and highly personal sound of his own.
Sundazed Music mourns the loss of our dear friend Shelby Singleton, who passed away at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville on October 7 at the age of 77. Over the course of his five-decade career as a producer, promoter, A&R man and record-company owner, Shelby was renowned as a tireless nurturer of talent, a savvy dealmaker and a vivid character with a flamboyant sense of style. Singleton’s uncanny musical instincts made him a key in the development of country and R&B music and in the careers of a wide range of artists.
