During the golden age of '60s garage rock, Chicago was a hotbed of raw rock 'n' roll activity, spawning a wide array of hard-hitting homegrown combos. Suburban teen-club heroes the Del-Vetts were one of the best things to rise from that fertile Windy City scene, creating some of the era's punchiest proto-punk!

With legendary local garage godfather Bill Traut (The Nazz, Shadows of Night) producing, the Del-Vetts released four singles on four different labels (including Traut's legendary Dunwich imprint) and under two different names between 1965 and 1968, including the immortal mini-masterpiece "The Last Time Around," which became a local smash in Chi-town and made the national Top 30.

All eight of the Del-Vetts' singles sides are included on this 10-inch EP, along with such killer tunes as the out-there "I Call My Baby STP," the souped-up "Ramcharger" and the band's raucous take on the Righteous Brothers' "Little Latin Lupe Lu." Also here are the smoothly melodic "Girl," which they released in 1967, after rechristening themselves the Pride and Joy, and their swan song "We Got a Long Way to Go," written by Brill Building legends Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil.
